OC Watersheds San Clemente Coastal Streams Watershed
The San Clemente Coastal Streams Watershed is approximately 19.16 square miles and
includes portions of the cities of San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point.
Prima Deshecha Canada is one of two main streams that flow through the City of San
Clemente, ultimately discharging into the Pacific Ocean at Poche Beach. Several
small, unnamed drainages, as well as larger tributaries, join Prima Deshecha as
it makes its way through the watershed. The Prima Deshecha originates near the Prima
Deshecha landfill and flows along Camino de los Mares, underneath the San Diego
Freeway (Interstate 5) and N. El Camino Real, before discharging into the Pacific
Ocean at Poche Beach. The Segunda Deshecha Canada, the second main stream draining
the watershed, flows through the Talega development, along Avenido Pico, under the
San Diego Freeway (Interstate 5) and N. El Camino Real, before discharging into
the Pacific Ocean at North Beach.
