Introduction to Talbert Watershed

Talbert Introduction ImageThe Talbert Watershed covers 21.4 square miles straddling the mouth of the Santa Ana River. It includes portions of the cities of Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, and Santa Ana. Two main tributaries drain this watershed. On the western side, the Talbert and Huntington Beach Channels drain through the Talbert Marsh before emptying into the Pacific Ocean. On the eastern side, the Greenville-Banning Channel empties into the Santa Ana River.
