Talbert Watershed - Reports & Studies
Reports and Studies
This page is the introductory page to our Reports and Studies Section. We are continuing to add to this section with as many documents as possible to keep you informed of watershed activities and progress.

Over the past few years, our primary issue in this watershed has been high bacterial levels at the beach. The reports listed at right are presented in chronological order:

  • The initial investigation by the Orange County Sanitation District conducted during the summer of 1999, or "Phase I"
  • A review of the Phase I investigation by a panel of experts sponsored by USC Sea Grant
  • The first study on the contributions of runoff conducted by the University of California Irvine in December 1999, or "Coastal Runoff Impact Study 1"
  • The County's strategy for next steps
  • Orange County Sanitation District's Phase II investigation conducted during the summer of 2000
  • U.C. Irvine's "Coastal Runoff Impact Study 2" conducted during the summer of 2000
  • A review of the studies conducted during 2000 by a panel of experts sponsored by the National Water Research Institute
  • The proposal for a third study by U.C. Irvine conducted during the summer of 2001; upon completion the final report will be posted here
