Keep Waterways Clean by Removing Trash from Creeks, Rivers and Beaches

Clean-up Day Events are opportunities for you to make a difference by removing trash from the environment before it reaches the ocean.

County staff collaborate for two events each year with local organizations such as Surfrider, Orange County Coastkeeper, Trails4All, and California Coastal Commission; and work with volunteers from throughout the County to remove hundreds of pounds of trash from the Santa Ana River.

Volunteers ought to bring the following:

  • Closed-toe shoes. (Volunteers wearing open-toe shoes will not be allowed in the channel)
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Gardening gloves
  • Reusable bottle for water or coffee
